Quick answer: Most non-EU master's applications for the August 2027 intake close on 1 December 2026 at UiB, NTNU, NMBU, and Nord University. Some close earlier: OsloMet on 1 November, and UiT's 2026 intake deadline was 15 November, so check its 2027 date now. Upload every document by the deadline, because late documents can make an application invalid. Budget about NOK 170,368 (roughly ৳20 lakh) in proof of funds, and plan to pay tuition: non-EU students no longer study for free at most public universities.
This guide lists the official dates we could confirm, flags the ones you must double-check, and converts the money requirement into BDT. At Sunrise Education Consultants, we built it from the universities' own admission pages and UDI, the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration. Several popular guides contradict the universities, so we didn't rely on them. For the wider picture, see our study in Norway guide.
Non-EU/EEA applicants apply months before EU/EEA applicants. NTNU's international master's guide shows non-EU applicants applying from November to 1 December, while EU/EEA applicants apply from 1 February to 1 March. UiT's 2026-intake pages show the same split. One practical reason is that non-EU students need a study permit before travelling, and UiB says permit processing can take several weeks.
NMBU: the portal opened on 15 October.
NTNU: the window opens between 20 October and 1 November, depending on which NTNU page you read.
UiB: the portal opens on 1 November.
OsloMet: applications close on 1 November.
UiT: the 2026-intake window ran from 15 October to 15 November 2025.
You may see NTNU listed elsewhere as "November 15 to March 1". NTNU's own pages show 1 December for non-EU applicants. The 1 February to 1 March window is for EU/EEA applicants.
Most English-taught options are master's programmes. UiT offers no English-taught bachelor's, and NMBU offers one.
For bachelor's study, the 15 April Samordna opptak deadline usually doesn't apply to you. NMBU explains that applicants with upper secondary education from outside the Nordic countries, and no documented Norwegian, apply through its international process by 1 December. Samordna opptak requires Norwegian proficiency, so check your route before assuming 15 April.
Official transcripts and your degree certificate. UiB publishes a country list that states which bachelor's degree it accepts from each country, so check Bangladesh's entry.
Proof of English proficiency, unless you qualify for an exemption (UiB asks you to upload proof of exemption).
Passport copy, CV and motivation letter. Programme pages set the exact list, so read yours.

UDI requires NOK 15,488 per month, or NOK 170,368 for a full academic year. Some university pages still quote NOK 166,859, so budget for the higher UDI figure. Both amounts change each year.
Rate used: ৳12 per NOK, an indicative mid-market figure. Public converters showed roughly ৳11.9 to ৳12.8 during 2026. Recheck the rate on the day you transfer money.
NMBU accepts three ways to document funds: a recent bank statement in your name, a sponsor's guarantee letter with the sponsor's statement, or a letter confirming a scholarship or student loan. NMBU also states that applicants who don't document financing within the deadline are ineligible, however strong their grades. UiB asks you to document funds for living costs and tuition.
Since autumn 2023, students from outside the EU/EEA/EFTA pay tuition at most Norwegian public universities. The amount depends on the programme, so read each programme's tuition section. There is also a small semester fee of about NOK 600. Some UiB applicants may be exempt from tuition, and OsloMet offers no scholarships. For other funding routes, see our scholarships guide for Bangladeshi students and our cost of studying abroad guide.

Assuming 1 December applies everywhere. OsloMet closes on 1 November, and UiT closes on 15 November for the 2026 intake.
Uploading documents late. NMBU and OsloMet treat an application with missing documents as invalid.
Using EU/EEA dates. The February to April windows are not for you.
Believing "tuition-free Norway". That advice is outdated for non-EU students.
Skipping proof of funds. At NMBU, missing financing documents make you ineligible.
Choosing the wrong route. Applying through Samordna opptak without Norwegian proficiency won't work.
Results come at different times: OsloMet by the end of February or early March, UiB by April 2027, and NMBU by the end of April. Accepting an offer has a short deadline. Then you apply for a study permit through UDI's application portal and pay the fee. At UiB, admitted students deposit funds into a student deposit account to receive the official letter of acceptance that the permit application needs. First-time permits allow part-time work of up to 20 hours per week during the semester and full-time work in holiday periods (NMBU's summary).
Read UDI's study permit requirements before you pay anything. For how long visa decisions take in other countries, see our visa processing time guide.
For most English-taught master's programmes starting in August 2027, it is 1 December 2026 at UiB, NTNU, NMBU and Nord. OsloMet closes on 1 November. UiT's 2026-intake deadline was 15 November 2025, so confirm its 2027 date. Upload documents by the deadline.
No. Since autumn 2023, students from outside the EU/EEA/EFTA pay tuition at most public universities, plus a small semester fee of about NOK 600. Some universities exempt certain applicants, so check your programme page.
UDI requires NOK 170,368 for a full academic year, about ৳20.4 lakh at ৳12 per NOK. Some university pages still quote NOK 166,859, and UiB also asks applicants to document funds for tuition.
For the August 2027 intake, generally no. UiB admits master's students once a year, so a missed deadline means waiting for the next cycle.
Only if you meet the general entrance requirements, including documented Norwegian proficiency. Applicants with non-Nordic upper secondary education and no Norwegian proficiency apply through the university's international process by 1 December.
OsloMet publishes results around the end of February or early March. UiB gives results by April 2027, and NMBU by the end of April.
UiB says about 8% of international applicants receive admission. Rates differ by university and programme, so read your programme's requirements.
